Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 14, 2023.

Welcome to Brelly’s website, web applications, and mobile applications, including related content, promotions, features, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). Brelly, Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform our users and visitors (“you” or “your”) about the information that we process through the Platform.

Please review this Privacy Policy carefully. When you access, browse, submit information through, or otherwise use the Platform, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

This Policy describes:

  • Information that we receive from you when you interact with the Platform;
  • How we process the information that we receive;
  • When and why information is disclosed to third parties; and
  • Your choices regarding the processing of your information.

Types of Information We Collect

We collect various kinds of information that you provide to us and that we obtain from your use of the Platform. Some of the types of information that we collect include:

  • Information used in creating and using the Platform, such as your name, location, phone number, email address, insurance information, property information, and claim-related information;
  • Your account preferences and settings;
  • Actions you take while using the Platform;
  • Content you submit, such as comments, messages, responses, support requests, webform submittals, or any other information that you provide through the Platform;
  • Contact information of persons or organizations that you have identified as associated with your property, insurance claim, or business;
  • Information about the location of the device used to access the Platform;
  • Your technical and general Internet usage information (e.g., your browser type; service provider; IP address; operating system; webpages visited; length and frequency of your visits; and metadata, such as the date and time of a shared comment);
  • Information about transactions you conduct on the Platform; and
  • Information necessary to detect and prevent fraud.

How We Collect Information

Whether we collect certain types of information and how we process them depends on how you use and access the Platform. We collect information about you in the following ways:

  • From you. We collect information from you when you create an account for the Platform, when you use the Platform, provide us with feedback, or otherwise voluntarily provide us information.
  • From your social media account. You may be able to access the Platform through various social media services, such as Facebook. If you choose to access the Platform through your social media service account, by providing us with your credentials, then you grant us permission to access and use your public social media service information in accordance with that service’s terms of use and privacy policy, our Terms of Use, and this Privacy Policy. The manner in which a particular social media service processes your information will be governed by that service’s terms of use and privacy policy.
  • From service providers with your consent.  To enable you to conveniently access and collect information about your insurance coverage and property for use within the Platform, we may partner with third parties that specialize in consumer-authorized data sharing. These service providers collect only what you authorize them to collect, and do so according to terms and privacy policies that we make available to you before you use their services.
  • Cookies and pixel tags/web beacons. Cookies are small text files sent to or accessed from your web browser that contain information about the device you use to access the Platform. Cookies collect information from your device such as the device’s IP address; location; operating system and browser type; domain, user, and other system settings; browsing history, including the website you were on before you came to the Platform; and activities conducted while using the Platform. A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded in our Platform that collects information about engagement on our Platform. The use of a pixel tag allows us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page or clicked on a particular advertisement. We may also include web beacons in e-mails to understand whether messages have been opened, acted on, or forward. These technologies help us improve the Platform, personalize your experience, store your information, and prevent fraud.

  • To provide and personalize your experience with the Platform;
  • To develop and improve the Platform;
  • To monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with the Platform;
  • To provide customer service;
  • To communicate with you about your transactions or use of the Platform;
  • To allow us to contact you by phone, email, text, or otherwise, about the Platform or information related to the Platform;
  • To provide you with information about products and services that may be of interest to you;
  • To personalize advertising that you see on the Platform;
  • To detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud or any other harmful activities that could impact the safety of our users;

When We Share and Disclose Information About You

We do not collect information that specifically identifies you for the purpose of selling it to marketing lists (i.e., we’re not in the business of selling customer lists). When do, however, share information for other purposes under the following circumstances:

  • In aggregated form. We may share information about you in an aggregated or anonymized form—that is, in a statistical or summary form that does not include any personal identifiers—with third parties in order to discover and reveal trends about how users interact with the Platform.
  • During corporate changes. We reserve the right to transfer information about our users in the event we sell or transfer all or substantially all our business or assets.

In addition, when you use the Platform, certain information will be shared with other users and the public, including some of your account information and Platform’s activities. This content may be publicly viewable, along with the username associated with the content, and the time that the content was posted. Through the posted content, users or site visitors may be able to view additional information about your account profile depending on the settings you have chosen for your account. We therefore strongly recommend that all users evaluate their account’s privacy settings and avoid posting personal or sensitive information on the Platform at any time.

Links To Other Websites and Services; Third-Party Practices

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Platform. If you follow any links on the Platform that take you to another website or service, then this Privacy Policy no longer applies. For example, we do not process payments. Payments are processed by a third-party service provider; therefore, when you make payments, you are subject to that third party’s terms of use and privacy policy.

In addition, we may offer social sharing features that let you share content or actions you take on the Platform with other media. Your use of these features enables the sharing of certain information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the third-party service that provides the social sharing feature. To learn more about the purpose and scope of information processing in connection with social sharing features, please refer to the applicable third-party services’ terms and privacy policy.

We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Platform or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information processing practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy. By continuing to use the Platform after Privacy Policy changes go into effect, you agree to be bound by the revised policy.
